What is a tax residency certificate and why do I need it?

Latvian limited liability companies are already considered tax resident from its incorporation date, which means that a Latvian company can already take advantage of numerous Double Tax Treaties in its first year of operations.

In order to reap the benefits of a double tax treaty (to limit or avoid international double taxation on the same profits), you will need to prove your Latvian company’s tax residency by presenting a tax residency certificate to the tax authority of the other country where you have operations or have subsidiaries.
